Active listening is one of the most important ways I connect with my clients. I work to get a clear picture of what matters to them, identifying their concerns and pain points early on so we can begin addressing them together. I like to ask open-ended questions about how they’re feeling and what might be keeping them up at night, because that’s often where the real planning starts. I like to focus on seven key planning areas—including things like income needs, tax planning, and risk management—as a guide throughout the process. When we’ve talked through each of the seven areas, we have what we need to build a plan that reflects their goals and values.

Most importantly, my clients can expect someone who truly listens and takes the time to get to know them. I’m here to be available, to answer questions, and to walk alongside them through every step. At the heart of it all, they can expect someone who has their best interests in mind in everything we do.

I enjoy meeting new people and helping them solve problems—it’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. A true joy for me is seeing a client make the transition into retirement and not just be able to do it, but truly thrive. It’s incredibly satisfying to watch clients accomplish goals like paying off a house or taking that long-awaited bucket list trip. During our review meetings, I love hearing about the memories they’re making, the gifts they’re able to give to their children and grandchildren, or the support they’re providing to the causes they care about. That’s what makes this work meaningful for me.

One of my greatest joys is to see a client not just be able to retire—but to thrive in retirement.
