What is Allworth Kids?
For almost 30 years, Allworth Financial has been working with people to help them achieve their financial goals so they can enjoy great retirements. But it’s not only about business. Since its inception, Allworth has taken community involvement seriously, donating time, energy and resources in support of worthwhile non-profits from coast-to-coast. As an outgrowth of that tradition, in December 2020, in tandem with the Ticket to Dream Foundation, and with an initial contribution of $1 million, Allworth Financial announced the creation of Allworth Kids, an ongoing, national, philanthropic endeavor that will work to provide fundraising and volunteer opportunities in support of foster children.
As part of its new initiative, Allworth Kids will support the Ticket to Dream Foundation’s goal of positively impacting the lives of foster children from the moment they enter care all the way until they transition to adulthood. Led by Allworth Co-founder and Vice Chair Scott Hanson, and his wife, Valerie Hanson - who are themselves foster parents, and who recently adopted two sisters - the $1 million initial contribution has been derived from a combination of fundraising, donations by Allworth employees and executive leadership team members, and the generosity of Scott and Valerie Hanson.

Our 2024 Plan
Supporting foster youth as they transition into adulthood.
For our “Building Futures” campaign, to help provide support in the form of housing, groceries, and laptops for foster children who are “aging out” of the system, the team members at Allworth delivered desperately needed funds and assistance to 1,200 young people, along with hundreds of cards and letters of encouragement.
For children entering the foster care system, the first night in a new home is often the most difficult.
For our April-May “Just Kids” sponsorship initiative, the team members at Allworth Financial showed solidarity with the children we serve, and to commemorate Foster Care Awareness month (May), by wearing blue shirts and adding customized Foster Kids backgrounds to all company Zoom meetings. The Just Kids initiative was a huge success, as the money and donations raised or received by Allworth Financial enabled the Ticket to Dream Foundation to deliver “first-night” kits (hygiene products, undergarments, clothing, toys, etc.) to over 4,000 foster children.
It’s difficult to learn when you don’t have school supplies.
For our "Back to School" drive, Allworth Financial provided essential supplies to over 7,000 youth. Allworth employees participated in backpack builds and shopping sprees at our offices throughout the U.S., providing school supplies and 500 backpacks for local children in foster care.
Delivering gifts, possibility, and warm holiday experiences to over 4,000 foster children.
Forced to spend the time away from their homes and families, the holiday season can be the most difficult time of the year for the over 420,000 children in foster care. With our 4th quarter “Allworth Kids Holiday Magic” initiative, we’re working with the Ticket to Dream Foundation to help provide gifts, special experiences, and laptops to over 4,000 foster children this year.
