While working toward his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from nearby California State University, Chico, Ben not only earned Academic All-American honors, but he concurrently led the Wildcat’s golf team to a #1 national ranking. After graduating from Chico, Ben continued his education, earning degrees, credentials, and accreditations from Kaplan University, UC Davis, and the College for Financial Planning. An avid traveler and golfer, and the owner of a micro-farm, Ben splits his free time between coaching his son’s and daughter’s sports teams and attending their various performances and school functions. He and his wife, Alyssa, live in nearby Durham with their two young children.
- Ben is a life-long 49ers and Sacramento Kings fan, rarely missing games.
- He broke his leg in three places while abroad; had to be air-lifted back to the U.S. and couldn’t walk for nearly three months. That was one heck of a honeymoon.
- One of his hidden talents is parallel parking, no matter how small the space.
- Ben met his wife in college, where they had several classes together and were involved in many group projects, however they didn’t end up dating until six years later. Like a fine wine, the best things in life take time.
- He knows a ridiculous amount of professional golf facts, including which grips and equipment most players use.
- Ben has always loved to travel. Post-college graduation he backpacked through Europe, staying in hostels, train stations and even sleeping on the streets of Amsterdam. He’s travelled abroad several times since; however, his accommodations are now much improved.
- Ben’s true superpower these days is making his kids laugh uncontrollably.
