Duc Nguyen is a Regional Vice President and Wealth Management Consultant at Allworth Financial. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, he brings extensive knowledge of sophisticated wealth management strategies and a consultative approach to helping individuals and families address complex financial needs. His legal education, combined with a background in private wealth management and investment solutions, provides a broad perspective on the decisions that shape long-term financial security.
Prior to joining Allworth, Duc held business development and relationship management roles with CIBC Private Wealth and Carillon Tower Advisers. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Law and Society from the University of California, Irvine.
Originally from Southern California, Duc has called the Bay Area home for more than two decades and now lives in Burlingame with his wife, Pamela, and their two sons, Lucas and Mason. Outside the office, he enjoys coaching his sons’ baseball and volleyball teams, experimenting with new recipes, and exploring local restaurants with his family. Despite living in Giants territory, the Nguyens remain devoted Los Angeles Dodgers fans.
I believe trust is the foundation of every successful financial relationship. Before discussing strategies or potential solutions, I want those I meet with to feel comfortable knowing their interests come first. That begins with genuine conversations about their circumstances, what matters most to them, and what they ultimately hope to accomplish.
Once that understanding is established, we can begin exploring the opportunities available and how Allworth’s comprehensive wealth management capabilities may address their needs. My role is to help make those initial conversations productive and informative, providing perspective while ensuring each person has the opportunity to ask questions and carefully consider their options.
Above all, those I work with can expect empathy and transparency. Financial decisions are deeply personal, and I believe it’s important to approach every conversation with respect for the experiences and responsibilities that shape someone’s relationship with money.
My perspective on financial planning is deeply personal. My father passed away when I was young, leaving my mother to raise six children on her own at just 35 years old. Looking back, I recognize how much of a difference sound financial advice could have made for our family during that difficult time. That experience has stayed with me and continues to influence how I think about the responsibility that comes with this profession.
I try to look beyond the financial value of someone’s wealth and understand what it represents in their life. It may mean greater security for their family, opportunities for the next generation, or the ability to support causes close to their heart. Knowing that the right guidance at the right time can have a lasting impact on the people someone cares about is what makes this work so meaningful to me.
I’ve seen firsthand how deeply financial decisions can affect a family. That experience has shaped my belief that good advice should consider the people we care about, the opportunities we hope to create, and the security we want to provide for those who depend on us.
