John Klee is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional serving Allworth’s Rochester, New York, office. He provides guidance across financial planning, tax planning, and investment management, helping individuals and families bring greater coordination to their financial lives. Combining technical expertise with a client-focused approach, John works to develop wealth strategies that are both practical and aligned with each client’s long-term objectives.

Earning a Bachelor of Science in Business from Penn State University, John also received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester. His background in both business and financial planning reflects his belief that successful wealth management requires balancing technical expertise with practical decision-making.

John lives in Ontario, New York, with his wife and their dog. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, and cheering on his beloved Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Every client has a different story, which is why I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. My first priority is building a relationship and understanding what each client is working toward, what concerns they have, and what success looks like to them. From there, I develop strategies that consider every aspect of their financial life, from investments and retirement planning to taxes, cash flow, and legacy goals.

I believe one of the most important responsibilities I have as an advisor is making complex financial topics easier to understand. My goal isn’t just for clients to know what we’re doing, but why we’re doing it. When people understand the reasoning behind their plan, they’re better equipped to make thoughtful decisions and stay committed to their long-term strategy.

Essentially, I see my role as the quarterback of a client’s financial life. My job is to understand the entire field, coordinate the moving pieces, and help execute a game plan that gives them the best opportunity for long-term success. Throughout this process, my clients can expect proactive communication, transparency, and an advocate who is accessible, responsive, and invested in helping them achieve their goals.

What I enjoy most about being a financial advisor is the opportunity to build lasting relationships while making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Financial decisions often carry significant emotional weight, whether someone is preparing for retirement, caring for aging parents, selling a business, or receiving an inheritance. Helping clients cut through the noise and focus on what matters most is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

That’s why, over time, I’ve come to appreciate that this profession is about much more than investments, taxes, or estate planning. At different moments, an advisor becomes an educator, a coach, a sounding board, and sometimes even a family mediator. Because money touches nearly every aspect of life, I consider it a privilege to support my clients through both the financial decisions and the personal moments that shape their future.

The best financial decisions are made when clients understand not just the recommendation, but the reasoning behind it.
