Partner Advisor

Richard Looney is a Partner Advisor in Allworth’s Manasquan, New Jersey, office. With a career that began amidst the chaos of Black Monday in 1987, he brings decades of experience in investing and financial advising to his role. From his early days on the trading desk to becoming managing partner at George McKelvey Company—a respected New Jersey-based planning firm serving high-net-worth clients that joined Allworth in 2024—Richard has built a reputation for thoughtful, steady leadership and deep financial insight. He holds a B.S. in Economics and Finance from the University of Hartford.

Today, Richard leverages that expertise to help individuals and families navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence. His planning approach is holistic and highly personalized, encompassing investment management, tax strategies, estate planning, and insurance solutions—all tailored to each client’s unique goals.

Richard and his wife, Amy, have lived in Wall Township since 1994 and have two grown children, Madeline and Anderson. Outside of the office, he enjoys golfing, skiing, running, and has recently developed a love for cooking.

Listening closely is at the heart of how I work. I pay particular attention to the details clients share—especially when there are changes in their financial or personal lives—so I can adjust guidance to fit what’s happening now and what’s ahead.

Throughout our partnership, my clients can expect candid, informed advice shaped by more than 35 years in the industry. My goal is to be a steady, experienced presence who they can trust to offer perspective, ask the right questions, and help them make confident, well-considered decisions.

My goal has always been to lift the burden of financial stress so my clients can focus on what matters most: living their lives with confidence and peace of mind. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that thoughtful planning can help bring both clarity and freedom to the people I work with.

Thoughtful, comprehensive financial guidance offers both stability and the freedom to enjoy life more fully. For more than three decades, I’ve taken pride in delivering that guidance to my clients and serving as a consistent, trusted resource through every stage of their journeys.
