David Weiss
Financial Advisor
David Weiss is a financial advisor serving Allworth’s Durham, North Carolina, office. With 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, he provides holistic financial planning for high-net-worth individuals and families. His work focuses on integrating tax-efficient investment strategies, comprehensive wealth management, and legacy and charitable planning into cohesive, forward-looking strategies designed to preserve and enhance multigenerational wealth.
After living in upstate New York (Go Bills!) and New Orleans, David and his family have called the Raleigh-Durham area home for more than 20 years, proudly embracing life in the Tar Heel State. He and his wife, Jennifer, have been married for 25 years and are the proud parents of two grown daughters. Outside the office, David and Jennifer enjoy traveling, skiing, kayaking, and especially hiking—they’ve traversed more than 400 miles of North Carolina’s 1,100+ mile Mountains-to-Sea Trail, a true testament to their love of the outdoors.
Over the years, I’ve found there is a distinct difference between simple goal planning—such as retirement readiness or college funding—and true comprehensive wealth planning. My approach brings all the moving parts together: investment strategy, tax efficiency, charitable intent, anticipated life transitions, and long-term legacy considerations. This begins with open, honest communication and a complete understanding of a client’s financial picture. Once that foundation is in place and my team and I are entrusted to serve as their financial “quarterback,” we design a clear, actionable roadmap to success.
Throughout our relationship, my clients can expect transparency, integrity, and genuine partnership. I strive to serve not only as an advisor, but as a trusted resource and steady presence over time. And when a question requires deeper analysis, my team and I do the work necessary to provide thoughtful, well-researched guidance.
I most enjoy learning about the journeys my clients have taken, the milestones they’ve achieved, and what they aspire to accomplish next. Every family is unique, and I value the opportunity to build upon their hard work with thoughtful, strategic guidance tailored to their goals.
That responsibility requires staying attentive to an ever-changing landscape. Financial planning is not static—markets shift, tax laws evolve, and life brings both expected and unforeseen changes. Identifying sound solutions amid that complexity, and helping clients adapt with clarity and confidence, is what continues to make this work so meaningful to me.
I believe money and investments are ultimately a means to an end. The real purpose of financial planning is to create clarity and confidence around the life a client is building.
